ain't too proud to altar call

"is there anyone who feels that they need to lay some things on the altar?" the preacher asked.
i jumped out of my seat without hesitation.
thoughts of a former love affair should NOT be running through your head during a sermon.

larger than life plans

*jeremiah 29:11
it could have been different. life could have been more of a cake-walk...
see, when Jesus was in the desert and tempted by the devil He was offered an earthly dominion; He didn't take it. His plans were deeper, rose much higher and stretched so much wider.
thanks be to God.

get it righteous

a quote:
"you have to work out what God has worked into you..."
a conversation:
"so what's that next big thing? have you figured it all out, yet??"
"not really, i'm just doing the faithful stewardship of today..."
a verse:
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
*i corinthians 15:58

stir up the gifts

unleash Your people into our fullness; let our free will no longer be the hinderance it has been... give us clear minds and continue to purify our hearts.
all praise, glory and honor is Yours, Father.
Amen.

God doesn't fit in my mind...

Isaiah 55:8 makes that plain.
It resonates clear and true.
Thanks, fellowship.

known needing application (2)

of hebrews 3
do not harden your hearts.
God wiped out an entire hard-hearted generation after the exodus. OH, that i might have the gumption of Joshua... he never believed the promised land was not promised. he focused on the promise and his God over any challenge. his whole book was: God said do it and joshua did.
i want the book with my name on it to read something like that.
no wars though... i'm a lover, not a fighter.

known needing application (1)

of psalm 34 -
magnify the Lord.
too often it is about other things: circumstances, results, me. but to magnify the Lord is to let Him be, from within me, as big as He is.
huge, amazing, love.
all that and a bag of supernatural chips.

truest lover

<3
You love me to a better me. You show mercy and grace, though i deserve anything but. you fill my insides with good things and i just want more. You don't do this in me for me only. Your love is unselfish. to recieve Your love is to know new life. You hold the power of earthquakes and tsunamis but most days manifest in the gentle breeze. You advocate for the lesser. You are amazing and larger-than-life and phenomenol. Oh, that my response would be swift, right and lasting. Your patience far exceeds my attempts at context. Your goodness knows no bounds.
You are love in all its forms.
abide with me.
